An odd triumvirate of mystical technological stimulants caused me to stumble across your website while reading up on the newest Tomb Raider and, even odder, seeing an episode of Ashes to Ashes for the first time (American, I don't watch BBC). So I think I was destined to grovel virtually before you tonight.
I'm 16 and have been playing Tomb Raider since the first (when I was about 4 or 5 years). As the games have progressed, so has my age (hurrr) and understanding of the world around me, particularly methods of storytelling. I'm what you'd call a gamer, but detached from the realm of celluloid enough to know better than to let myself be sucked into the black hole of video game obsession. And I can say quite unashamedly...since you've taken the role as Lara Croft, it caused me to come pretty damn close. It is a simple design, executed in brilliant fashion. Your ability to take these (what I would assume to be only preconceived) notions of how the Tomb Raider character should learn and grow, and turn them into riveting cinematic...its just....
....Well I'm not really sure there's a word to describe what I've said any better.
For the first time Lara Croft seems as tangible a person as the modern movie icon or celebrated literary characters of old. I eagerly await whatever future Raider projects you may be involved in in the future and I'm confident you will give as much renewed life to the story as you have thus far.
